America's oldest federal cultural institution celebrated its 200th birthday with a concert and dinner that attracted the moneyed elite. Guests enjoyed a concert by Marvin Hamlisch in the stunning Thomas Jefferson Building prior to dinner. The Library's goal is to inspire creativity in the century ahead by stimulating greater use of America's national library as well as libraries across the country. Guests included Texas's Ross Perot, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, The Washington Post's Katherine Graham, patrons Judith Terra, Betsy Bloomingdale and Nancy Brinker.
