Political leaders and distinguished area medical professionals returned to the Capital Hilton Hotel for the 12th annual Children's Inn at NIH Gala and Auction on Sept. 19. The brainchild of a group of bipartisan Congressional wives, the Inn is a private nonprofit dwelling for young patients receiving treatments at the National Institutes of Health and their families. For the second year in a row, the gala featured the "From Every State" auction of elaborate gift baskets representing all 50 states assembled by 100 Congressional spouses. Following dinner, actor Billy Baldwin served as the celebrity auctioneer for the night's live auction. The gala serves as the Inn's principal fundraising source.
