Hollywood celebrities and local luminaries gathered to pay tribute to TransAfrica Forum for 23 years ofservice. The lobbying group TransAfrica and its research arm TransAfrica Forum have played a pivotal rolein shaping U.S. foreign policy towards Africa and Caribbean nations. By educating the public on U.S.policies affecting these regions, the Forum works towards its primary goal of the advancement of humanrights and democracy in Africa and the Caribbean. Honored guests included Muhammad Ali, Ossie Davis, RubyDee, and Martin Payson.
