Peace Links held their Peace on Earth Gala at the CapitalHilton Hotel in early December. Peace Links activists workwith other nuclear disarmament groups in order to speakwith one unified voice. Some of the organization’s achievementsfor the year 2000 included: involving citizen activistsin the ongoing public debate about the National MissileDefense System and “mini nukes”, welcoming youngRussian leaders to communities across the United States to experiencefirsthand democratic ideals and practices, and involvingmore than 500 middle and high school students in community events.
