Nobel laureate Kim Dae Jung, Kim Jong II—leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Reps. Doug Bereuterand Sandy Levin, and movie star/director Edward Norton were among the honorees at the third annual CommonGround Awards held at the Finnish Embassy. Norton’s grandmother, philanthropist Libby Rouse, was also given a lifetimeachievement award. The awards were established by Search for Common Ground to acknowledge outstanding achievementsin conflict resolution internationally and in the United States. Each recipient has made important contributions towardbridging divides between people, finding solutions to seemingly intractable problems, and providing hope.
