An eclectic mix of the old guard and the new rubbed elbows atWashington Life's 10-year anniversary bash at the Ritz-CarltonHotel on October 10. Spotted in the crowd of over 500 guestswere political pundits Gene Sperling and Tony Podesta, andmedia types Mort Zuckerman, Margaret Carlson, and DianaMcLellan. The new guard was represented by Michelle du Pont,Kara Kennedy Allen, and Nancy Ives and the old guard by LuckyRoosevelt, Philip and Nina pillsbury, and Esther Coopersmith,among others. While engaged in flirting or repartee, guests helpedthemselves to the delectable cuisine—crab cakes with avocado andsprouts, poached salmon, foie gras, and lobster spring rolls werejust some of the specialties prepared by the Kobalt restaurant’sfabulous new chef, Emory Santo. The party officially ended at9:00 p.m., but the hotel bar was overflowing with guests untilwell past 1:00 a.m.
