A quick glance at the sea of young blonde womenclad in red might make one guess that the July 26event at the Lafayette Center was a casting call forBaywatch. In reality, it was the Capital Club’seighth annual Summer Sinatra Soiree, attended byover 600 invited guests. While there were manymore women than men in attendance, the Clubmembers were easy to spot, due to the “summerahoy” plaid pants that many of them were sportingfor the occasion. So popular was this year’s eventthat there was hardly any room for dancing totunes by Swingtown, Washington’s premier Sinatraband, but by midnight couples were twirling andtwisting with abandon.
