On April 30th, the Folger Shakespeare Library was transformed into the streetsof Budapest for its Spring Gala, welcoming Hungarian Ambassador and Mrs.Geza Jeszenszky, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and other dignitaries.Guests sampled national delicacies, sipped Hungarian wines and wereentertained by strolling musicians. Monies raised will help support thedozens of outreach programs that the Library offers. A special beneficiary is theLibrary’s nationally-renowned education department, which recently received theOutstanding Contribution to Arts Education Award bestowed by theWashington D.C. Mayor’s Arts Awards.
