Inwhat has been billed as a “cash and carry” deal, the Wilners paid $1 million toMelvin Lenkin, president of Lenkin Properties, and his wife Thelma for theirpenthouse, which boasts a balcony with a greenhouse, a built-in grill, and a view ofGeorgetown’s West End. The Lenkins, who have their own charitable foundation,are among the small group of philanthropists responsible for the equestriansculpture which graces the front steps of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.They chose Ted Gossett and Susan Koehler of Sotheby’s InternationalAffiliate, Washington Fine Properties as their listing agents. Terri Robinson of AGSRealty represented the Wilners in their purchase. Michael R. Franz, M.D., a cardiologist and professor with the Department ofMedicine and Pharmacology at Georgetown University Medical Center, has soldhis home at 2009 Kalorama Road, N.W. The buyers, Melissa Schwartz and DavidMuenzer, paid just $995,000 to live in what is historically Washington’s most prestigiousneighborhood. Since its founding in 1809, Kalorama has been home to moreU.S. presidents than anywhere except the White House. Herbert Hoover, WoodrowWilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Tr uman and Dwight D. Eisenhower allhad homes in Kalorama, which is Greek for “beautiful view.”

Barsky, a lawyer with the JusticeDepartment, have purchased 8108 Tomlinson Avenue from Robert L.Trachtenberg, trustee. The price tag for the Bethesda property near Seven LocksPark was $850,000.
The home of the late William Pierce Rogers and his late wife Adele L. Rogershas sold for $2.2 million. Rogers, who served as attorney general under PresidentEisehnower and as Richard Nixon’s secretary of state, was a senior partner withClifford Chance Rogers & Wells of New York, Washington, and London at the timeof his death. The new owners of the five-bedroom Colonial at 7007 GlenbrookRoad in the Bradley Hills subdivision of Bethesda are Tracy B. McGillivary and herhusband, attorney Gregory K. McGillivary, whose firm, Woodley &McGillivary, represents labor organizations and their employees. The home was soldthrough Long & Foster realtor Gary H. Ditto for $25,000 less than the list price.
Gilbert J. Genn, the former Democratic member of the House of Delegates fromMontgomery County’s 16th District, and his wife Susan, have sold their home at7000 Fawn Trail Court near the C & O Canal in Bethesda and moved across Route270 to 10300 River Wood Drive, along the C & O Canal in Potomac. Genn gainedsome national notoriety in the wake of the Clinton sex scandal when he submitted abill to strengthen Maryland’s wiretapping laws in reaction to the “Linda Tripp situation.”Genn, who owns his own law firm, received $1.09 million from the sale of hisBethesda property to fellow attorney Kevin T.
