And the winners were "The Kennedy Centercollected the most prizes of any D.C.theatercompany-five for its Sondheim Celebrationand a sixth for Kelli Fournier (who won as"best nonresident supporting performer"for the musical "Aida")at the annual eventhonoring excellence in Washington theater.The May 4 gala was held in the KennedyCenter's Concert Hall. "Sweeney Todd,"the most honored show of the evening,won four awards, while The Synetic Theaterwon three major prizes for its adaptation of"Hamlet." Arena Stage, Shakespeare Theatre,RoundHouse, Studio Theatre and WoollyMammoth each won two prizes, while sevenother regional companies won one apiece.
