The newlyrenovated Andrew W. Mellon Auditoriumevoked the grandeur of Prince Charming'sPalace with its pillars, gilded ceiling, andchandeliers, and female guests were invited totry on glass slippers. Tables were draped ingold, lilac and salmon silk and taffeta, withcenterpieces of peonies, roses, hydrangeas, lilies,tulips and tiny silver pumpkins.
