The Creative Coalition hosted an invitation-only reception and dinner on January 28 honoringa non-partisan group of members of the 108th Congress. The Coalition's Capitol Hilldelegation included actors Sean Astin, Fran Drescher, Diane Ladd, Michele Lee, GiancarloEsposito, and actor/director Tony Goldwyn. Following the reception, a watch party to viewPresident Bush's "St ate of the Union" address took place at Ortanique Restaurant. Thedelegation is urging Congress to increase its funding of the nation's cultural agencies and artseducation programs in America's public schools and to reduce the flow of television and filmproduction abroad.
