Washington's social set turned out in full force on February 11th, for Washington Life's"Tickle Me Pink Dinner," co-hosted by Nancy Bagley, Holidae Hayes (who donned a pinkwig) and Washington Times Society Editor Kevin Chaffee (who settled for a pink tie). The100 guests, who were responding to the hand-delivered gold scrolls tied with pink ribbons anda pink feather, arrived to find Marcel's awash in pink flowers and a bar full of Nicolas FeuillatePremier Cru Rose and pink Kutskova vodka cocktails. With the musical stylings of pianistAlex Jenkins as background, guests mixed and mingled until the seated dinner by executivechef, Robert Wiedmaier, was served. The dining room, filled with ambassadors, media types,businessmen, power couples and swinging singles, went instantly from loud chatter toquieter sighs of delight as the many courses of Belgian cuisine were brought out, including adivine chestnut soup, perfectly roasted diver scallops, salmon in a saffron butter sauce, andheavenly slices of pork tenderloin. The crowd geared up again shortly after dinner, rejoiningat the bar until late in the evening, where guests were treated to a piano performance from themusical duo of Mariella Trager and Grace Bender.
