ALL ACCESS: Fashion turned heads at Tyson’s Galleria with a star-studded guest list and jaw-dropping runway fashions.
By Kinne Chapin
Renowned celebrity stylist and author Phillip Bloch and D.C. Housewives stars, Mary Amons and Stacie and Jason Turner were just a few of the many guests who strutted to Tyson’s Corner for ALL ACCESS: Fashion. The annual event held at Tyson’s Galleria strives to take the excitement of fashion week from inside the velvet ropes of Bryant Park to the capital- and this year, it certainly hit its mark. Guests gaped at the designs from the Fall and Winter 2010 seasons from Betsey Johnson, B/A/S/L/E/R, Eileen Fisher, Nicole Miller, Miller’s Furs, 7 for All Mankind, Anne Fontaine and Karen Millen.
But the ALL ACCESS event wasn’t just about looking at fashion. Guests were also invited to get involved in couture at the ArtJamz suite, where they could play designer by creating sketches of the seasons hottest trends. Another suite was sponsored by Fashion TV and allowed guests to appreciate the genius behind this intenational fashion network.
Attendees also had the opportunity to meet industry insiders like guest of honor Patricia Fields, who was a force of energy throughout the three-day event. Fields, who is best known for creating the looks in Sex & the City and The Devil Wears Prada, had the priviledge of introducing a VIP runway presentation of design genius Paul Sinclaire’s Fall/Winter womenswear collection. Sinclaire’s eponymous line will be featured at Saks Fifth Avenue and is nothing short of inspiring. Guests of the presentation couldn’t stop buzzing about his vision for the seasion- echoing the rave reviews he has recieved from top editors. The fusion of these two VIPs- Fields a CFDA award winner and Sinclaire a veteran of Valentino and Dior- was a true testament to ALL ACCESS: Fashion’s ability to unite different areas of the industry and dazzle its guests.
Overall, ALL ACCESS: Fashion was a smashing success. Without its own fashion week, DC could easily slip off the industry radar. But thankfully, events like Tyson Galleria’s ALL ACCESS keep the capital on the roster of fashion forward locales. Washington Life was even fortunate enough to participate in the event- we sponsored a private breakfast featuring the stunning collection from Carmen Marc Valvo.
