When you wish upon a star, a dream come true may be to
raise $1 million. That’s precisely how much the Children’s Inn
at NIH raised at their 15th annual gala at the National Building
Museum on October 7. Members of Congress were on hand
to support the event as well as congressional spouses, Lois
Breaux, Debbie Dingell, Karyn Frist, Jane Gephardt, Lilibet
Hagel, Jean Hastert, Paul Pelosi, and Cecile Tauzin who lent
their support as co-chairs.
It was thirteen years ago that Children’s Inn first opened its
doors to pediatric patients and their families, with its aim of
allowing seriously ill children to be kids, instead of just patients.
