Reptilian Cotillion About $25,000 was raised for the Seed Public Charter School, D.C.’s first urban boarding school, on November 22 at this year’s annual Reptilian Cotillion. In 1998, the school held its first class of 40 seventh graders in temporary facilities at the Capital Children’s Museum, and now houses 305 seventh through twelfth graders in a new campus in Southeast D.C. The college preparatory boarding school offers small classes, individualized attention and after school sports and activities- all the trappings of an upscale private school. The difference is that the D.C. families pay no tuition whatsoever. For the cause. a “Sex in the City” prize was raffled which included weekend accommodations at the Ritz Carlton, dinner for two at Smith Point and a “ladies night out” champagne and dessert party for 15 friends at Sassanova. “It was a great, fun young crowd. In true reptilian fashion, people were really ‘shedding their skin’ on the dance floor,” said Winston Bao Lord, who co-chaired the event.
