CityDance Ensemble Dinner & Dancing
A Dance for Two and A Dance for You!

A Washington Life sponsored two-venue event of dining and dancing on February 25 began at studio infinity, Washington's only gyrotonic studio, where the City Dance Ensemble treated guests to a duo of dance performances. Throughout the evening, the studio offered stress-relieving seated massages and sessions where guests could treat their feet to the healing power of reflexology. Gyrotonic is an exercise therapy that is steadily gaining popularity throughout the country for people seeking rehabilitation, functional exercise or simply just to stay in shape. Coined the “new Pilates,” gyrotonic combines elements from t'ai chi, ballet, gymnastics and swimming.

After the performance, everyone headed to nearby Saveur restaurant where the tables were turned and it was the guests' turn to dance. After dining on lamb chops and other delights, the DJ turned up the music and with some coaxing from the Ensemble dancers the crowd was on its feet and dancing until long past midnight. Who would have guessed it was a weeknight in Washington?

The evening benefited a new joint initiative by CityDance and the Many Hats Institute to bring arts education to children in the Anacostia region.
