American Heart Association Gala The American Heart Association’s Hearts in Bloom Gala, chaired by Robert Allbritton, raised over $700,000, up 15 percent from last year. Moving stories from the mother of a six-year-old heart survivor, and a sprawlingsilent auction contributed to the success of the event. Held at the Ritz- Carlton Hotel, Tysons Corner, the gala attracted over 800 supporters of the American Heart Association’s mission to reduce death and disability from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
