Over 300 guests attended the May 19 reception hosted by Kuwaiti Ambassador Salem Al-Sabah and his wife, Rima, to celebrate the publication of Janet Langhart Cohen’s autobiography “From Rage to Reason: My Life in Two Americas.” The book, an interesting and touching story detailing Langhart Cohen’s successful careers in modeling and journalism despite struggles with poverty and racism, highlights her friendships with such luminaries as Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King, Jr.“The book is more than a great read—it is a story of the history of America, and Langhart Cohen’s story is a real testament to the American dream,“ Rima Al-Sabah said.

VIP’s at the reception included Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan, Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, actress Lynda Carter and the guest of honor’s spouse, former Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, among others.
