Washington Life magazine’s 13th Anniversary Party
Not New York or L.A.: This is Washington Life, Where the Livin’ is Good
Washington Life celebrated its lucky 13 with a bash for 500 at the hip and
elegant Mandarin Oriental Hotel on September 14. Salmon gazpacho,
braised pork shank, shrimp spring-rolls with a truffle sauce, kobe beef and
ceviche from chef Eric Ziebold of hot-spot CityZen (pronounced citizen)
restaurant were among the culinary treats enjoyed by an eclectic mix
of guests, including Roberta McCain and the ambassadors of Sweden,
Bolivia, Cyprus and Norway. The piece de resistance was the fog-filled
dessert room: with an array of pastries, homemade ice creams and a bar of
sculpted ice serving a variety of Essan vodka martinis. Flowers were done
by Greenworks and invitations by Washington Engraving. DJ Juan Zuniga
spun an eclectic mix of Deep House, Down-tempo and Progressive music
as guests enjoyed performance art, with displays of a model on a massage
table and a trapeze artist swinging through the high ballroom ceilings with Cirque de Soleil flair. Washington Life wishes to thank all of our advertisers
who have supported us all these years.
