26th Annual Ambassadors Ball
Salute to the Diplomatic Corps
The Multiple Sclerosis Soceity’s 26th annual Ambassadors Ball welcomed
newly appointed ambassadors, and honors the diplomatic corps for lending
their support to the capital’s many charitable causes. This year’s ball’s cochairs
were Doris Matsui, wife of California Rep. Robert Matsui, and Emelie
Shaw, wife of Florida Rep. E. Clay Shaw. The 1,200 guests, including
congressional leaders and other D.C. heavyweights, received gift bags
stuffed with goodies from Toka Salon, one of the event’s sponsors.
The Multiple Sclerosis Society hopes to gross over $650,000 oncepledged funds are received. The money raised will provide vital researchand services to the 6,000 individuals with MS and their families in the
Washington metropolitan area.
