The Choral Arts Society Christmas Concert
and Benefit The Choral Arts Society of Washington dazzled guests with a holiday performance on December 13 at its annual Christmas concert and benefit, “Christmas in Singapore,” with Singaporean Ambassador Heng Chee Chan serving as honorary chairperson. Following the concert at the Kennedy Center, guests made their way to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel for a silent auction, dancing and dinner. The gala, chaired by Penny Yerks, grossed $550,000 and the auction raised $139,000, thanks to auction chair Tim Albrecht. Proceeds benefit the Choral Arts Society’s artistic initiatives and community and education outreach programs, such as the Annual Choral Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and its pre-concert lecture series. |
