The Phillips Collection Dinner
Honoring Art Patrons
Phillips Collection director Jay Gates and Chairman of the Board of Trustees
George Vradenburg joined Colombian Ambassador Luis Moreno and
his wife, Gabriela, in hosting a dinner in honor of patrons of the Phillips
Collection at the Colombian residence on November 17. The intimate
Dupont Circle museum houses work from some of the world’s most renowned
artists, including Georgia O’Keefe, Milton Avery, Jacob Lawrence and Pierre-
Auguste Renoir. The museum opened its Goh Annex in October 2004,
and a new building is currently under construction and will house the new
Center for Studies in Modern Art, where multidisciplinary teams of educators,
scholars, historians, and artists will gather to promote synergy between their
activities and visitor experiences.
