Young Concert Artists of Washington Russian Ambassador Yuri V. Ushakov and his wife Svetlana hosted an enchanting evening of music to benefit the Young Concert Artists of Washington on February 8. Russian-born American baritone Anton Belov, violinist Chee-Yun and pianist Wendy Chen performed Russian classical arias and concertos. Christie’s Auctioneer George McNeely auctioned off luxury trips, embassy dinners and other enticing items. Judy Lynn Price paid tribute to 4th generation Washingtonian Gerson Nordlinger, Jr. for his generous involvement with the arts in Washington. Under the direction of Susan Wadsworth, the Young Concert Artists Series has presented the debuts of exceptional young musicians from all over the world, chosen through the Young Concert Artists International Auditions. The group is based in New York and Washington and is chaired here by Gilan Tocco Corn, who is also an accomplished concert pianist.
