Washington National Opera Opening Night Party
The Maid of Orleans
Following the opening night of the Washington National Opera’s recent
production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Maid of Orleans,” renowned opera singer
Mirella Freni and other cast members were hosted by Russian Yury V.
Ushakov and his wife, Svetlana, at a post-production supper at their recently
redecorated residence. Opera Director Placido Domingo made sure to
praise Freni, who is celebrating fifty years as a professional opera singer.
Next month she will also be celebrating the 40th anniversary of her debut at
New York’s Metropolitan Opera.
