The Shakespeare Theatre’s Congressional Night
Will on the Hill
Members of Congress, administration officials and media personalities
were among the cast of “Will on the Hill: Lessons from Shakespeare on
How to Make It in Washington” at the Shakespeare Theatre’s 13th annual
Congressional Night on March 7. Reps. Ken Calvert and Cliff Stearns, Bob
Livingston, Ted Olson, Jim Angle, Jay Carney, Sam Donaldson, Kathleen
and Chris Matthews, Cokie and Steve Roberts and George Stephanopoulos
starred in the witty production created by Shakespeare Theatre Board
Member Ken Adelman and his wife, Carol. In response to excessive
government spending, Rep. Calvert evoked “Henry IV,” stating “I can get no
remedy against the corruption of the purse.” The event raised over $100,000 for the Theatre’s education, artistic and
community outreach programs.
