THE EVENT
The 81st Virginia Gold Cup Steeplechase
races were run under perfect weather conditions on
a beautiful Saturday.
THE SCENE
Guests began
arriving at 10 a.m. to set up their tailgate spreads (a
contest was held for the most decadent), women
donned over-the-top hats (Derby style) for the hat
contest, and the Blackwater Paracshute Team fl oated
in to open the day. Not to get lost in the shuffl e were
the horse races, complete with spills, thrills and
excitement.
