EASTERN MARKET ON THE MEN By now you’ve
heard that much of Washington’s historic Eastern Market
was damaged or destroyed by fire. But that hasn’t dampened the
spirits of those behind the city’s oldest continuously operating food
market – they’ve promised to rebuild. To help in the reconstruction
effort, two funds have been set up for donations: visit www.
capitalhillcommunityfoundation.org to make a donation to help
merchants who operate inside the building; or www.easternmarket.net
for more information on donating to aid the merchants who operate in
the outdoor market. Photo credit: Joe Shymanski
