THE EVENT
Capital Area Chapter hosted its annual gala to raise
the profi le of this debilitating disease and promote
advances in Alzheimer's research.
THE SCENE
Frazier sidekick David Hyde Pierce, an Alzheimer's
advocate, hasn't forgotten that his father and
grandfather suff ered from the disease, nor does he
dwell on it. "Every time I forget something I think
this must be it, although I mainly focus on fi nding a
cure," Pierce said. He was joined at the podium by
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chris Matthews,
whose mother died from the disease. Guests also
viewed "Voice Prints," a short fi lm in which Sen.
John D. Rockefeller IV described his mother's
bout with the disease.
