PORTER GIFFORD
During his 15 year career as a
photographer, Porter Gifford’s
work has appeared in leading publications
in the US and abroad, including
the New York Times, Time, Fortune, Life,
Businessweek, Newsweek, U.S. News and
World Report, People and Forbes. In addition
to his many professional credits,
Gifford is also an accomplished photojournalist.
He has produced photo
essays on such diverse subjects as heroine
addiction and homelessness in New York
City, the Native-American cactus harvest
in the southwest US, high tech heart
surgery, the Kentucky Derby and America’s
gun culture. Gifford also produces
images for commercial clients such as
Hewlett-Packard, Columbia University
and Fleet. He lives in Cambridge, Mass.
with his wife and two children. |
CAROL JOYNT
Carol Joynt is the owner of
the popular Georgetown restaurant,
Nathans. After 9/11 Joynt
began hosting monthly neighborhood
power lunches at her restaurant and
in minutes they became the ultimate
insiders’ insider lunches. With guests
such as Tom Brokaw, Dan Snyder, Tim
Russert, Leslie Cockburn and Fred
Smith, the lunches feature the city’s
best known leaders speaking candidly
in an intimate atmosphere. When not
at Nathans, Joynt focuses her time on
her priorities: family; raising her son,
Spencer, their dog, Leo, and Ozzy, the
bird; and writing her memoir, “Innocent
