Dip into refreshing handcrafted gelato and sorbets this summer at Dolcezza.
By Katie Test
I adore summer, it is my favorite season, but sometimes when a girl is sweating in her heels with her little black dress sticking to her, it’s time to turn to frozen treats for a pick-me-up and a cool-me-down.
And in those cases, I search out the closest Dolcezza. Husband and wife ownership team Robb Duncan and Violeta Edelman search out the freshest market ingredients and work them into unique seasonal flavors like Honey Lavender Gelato, made with foraged lavender, Purple Raspberries Sorbetto, made with Westmoreland Berry Farm strawberries or Strawberry & Tequila Sorbetto.
But I also keep coming back for staple flavors like salted caramel, dulce de leche (made with grass-fed cow milk) and the classic vanilla bean. Dolcezza Gelato is available in three sizes: chico, $4.50, mediano, $5.60 and grande, $6.60. Dolcezza also offers a kids cup for $3.50. Dolcezza has three gelateria locations in the Washington, DC area in Bethesda, Dupont Circle and Georgetown.
