The holidays will be here soon and some are looking for unique luxury gifts for that rather hard-to-buy-for person in their life. On November 13, a rare and unique bottle of bubbly hits the auction block.

Need something more mainstream that you don’t have to compete for? How about these luxury gift items from Barneys hand-picked by Jay-Z himself.

Speaking of rare and/or unique, check out this “whimsical” skyhouse in New York. Originally a printing shop for religious pamphlets, this penthouse floor was hard to sell until a couple purchased it and turned it into a modern-day, adult/kid marvel.

… and while we’re on the topic of architectural marvels, it was recently announced that the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona will finally be done in 2026… or at least that’s what’s projected. Check out the video timeline of what it will look like when it’s completed.

Fall Shopping

The weather is turning and Hermes has launched an app on how to tie a scarf properly. It’s also apparently a great sales tool because now I want to go shopping for one… or two… or…

H&M and Isabel Marant are about ready to release their collaborative collection. Get a sneak peek of the collection here.  Although she is known for her asymmetrical cuts and youthful accessories, this collaboration isn’t my favorite compared to those in the past, even including Maison Martin Margiela.

Another collaboration to keep you warm and chic? M.I.A. and Versace. Since she’s into fun pants, it’s the perfect fit.

Looking for a chic, comfy, warm piece for winter? Tibi has a GREAT oversized turtleneck pullover. Check it out here.

The ’80s called… the decade is handing over scrunchies … to top designers. Yes, you too can relive the decade no one wished to see again but this time, it’s “chic.”

Move over Gwenyth Paltrow, there’s a new, tall blonde actress with a fancy website. Blake Lively is about to turn loose a major web project that according to Lively, “doesn’t have a genre.” Given her nesting abilities at the moment, she might be giving Martha Stewart a run for her money instead.

… and while on the subject of web-based projects, Victoria Beckham and Skype are teaming up on a studio design project.  No stranger to social media, Victoria has been an avid fan of the application to communicate with her design studio in London.

Safari parks have a notice for all safari-goers: “Stop wearing animal prints, you’re scaring the animals.” According to The Guardian, “Possibly the worst thing you could do is limp past the lion or tiger enclosure in a zebra print outfit.”

Speaking of gaudy, Kanye West has bought Miley Cyrus five pairs of what look like genie Birkenstock sandals with fur.  These “shoes” are by Celine and start at $900 a pair.

These days, uniforms in many different industries are being redesigned by famous designers (cue major airlines) to not only modernize the look of the profession but also to market their brands. Hot on the heels of these collaborations come an industry that no one thought to touch — NFL cheerleaders. Check out what Vera Wang has done with the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders’ uniforms.
