The tech millionaire and his wife first attracted attention when, newly arrived in Washington in 2006, they bought Hickory Hill, the McLean mansion owned for many years by the Robert F. Kennedy family. The Washington Post saw the purchase as a changing of the guard in Washington –a sign that the nation’s capital was being settled by “a new elite – entrepreneurs whose wealth is often amassed by doing business.

” The Dabbieres soon got into the swing of things, supporting the National Brain Tumor Society (Ashley Dabbiere is a brain tumor survivor), Inova Health Foundation and the Lab School (she is on the board of trustees).

In 2017, the couple gave million to the LOGLIO Project to fight cancer.
