Glen Echo Park’s 2010 Gala in the Park, with the theme of Hot Jazz & Cool Blues, was held recently.  The annual fundraiser was a tremendous success, raising more money than ever to support the Park’s unique arts programs and historic buildings.  The Boilermaker Jazz Band was in top form as they entertained more than 400 guests, including award-winning journalist and author Steve Roberts (he and his wife, Cokie — both Bethesda residents — were Honorary Gala Chairs), WAMU‘s Rob Bamberger, host of “Hot Jazz Saturday Night” (Master of Ceremonies), Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett (who received the Friend of the Park award) and his wife Catherine, a great advocate for the arts and humanities, and The Honorable Connie Morella and her husband.
