FYIDC: Best of Fashion’s Night Out

With  so many places to visit on Fashion’s Night Out, where will you  go? Don’t fall into confusion- here  are our top picks for  FNO events.

Last fall, the inagural Fashion’s Night Out event planned by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America not only succeeded in raising awareness about the fasion industry- it was also one of the year’s  biggest parties. This year, DC is getting in on the global event. For FNO 2010 on September 10th, over 40 retailers, salons, and galleries in Georgetown will hold a special event to celebrate the fashion industry. But with so many parties to choose from, and so many peopleattending, where should you go on DC”s night for fashion? Here are our top five places to be when the sun goes down and the fashionistas come out.

Make sure and stop by the Betsey Johnson boutique. where you can join in a wine tasting from Potomac Wines, munch on cupcakes from Baked and Wired, have your photograph taken by the expert  Liam Gideon. Oh, and shop, of course!

Next head to Urban Chic, where you will have a chance to meet the boutique’s owner, Lindsay Buscher, as you browse through the racks. Sip on cocktails by a visiting mixologist while you admirethe best in fall fashion from  a Halston Heritage trunk show. Later on, make sure to listen up to the fashion tips from DC style expert  Kelly Collins and take advantage of hair styling by the gurus at Easel Salon.

Once you’re shopped out at Urban Chic, walk down to Wink, which will be the exclusive carrier of a Diane Von Furstenburg trunk show on Fashion’s Night Out. Meet a DVF representative and take in what DVF has planned for fall. Recieve a FNO gift with any purchase- and don’t forget your glass of wine!

Don’t leave without visiting Karen Millen‘s Fashion Night Out event. Karen Millen’s style experts will help you look your best for fall, while MAC beauty experts preform a makeover to complete the picture. The boutique will also be offering  a bevy of beverages and 20% off their designer line.

Lastly, lest you think this night is all about the ladies, there’s plenty of reasons for men to head down to M St. Guys, check out Lost Boys‘ Old Fashioned Pre-Game, where you can make yourself more dapper with a straight razor shave and a traditional shoe shine. Make sure you participate in the bourbon tasting, and don’t forget to listen to the top area nightlife picks presented by Urban Daddy‘s Jeff Dufour.
