We’ve all seen the headlines of the cover of Elle and Cosmo- Win back your man! or Kick your Body into shape!– for most of us, these articles are a way to pass the afternoon and dream of a life where we could lose weight in eight easy steps. But for Cathy Alter, author of the new book Up for Renewal, these headlines became a way of life.

On September 21st, at the chic Georgetown showroom of Alchimie Forever, Alter explained the journey she took in her book by deciding to follow magazine advice- from cooking to networking- to the hilt for a full year. VIP guests like Beth Soloman of Georgetown Dish, CEO of Alchimie Forever Ada Polla and Let’s Talk Live Producer Laura Chavez laughed along with the author as she signed books and cracked quips.

With a signed copy in hand, attendees were free to mingle, sip bubbly, and try out Alchimie Forever’s exclusive skin line for men and women. All in all, Alter’s signing was a smash hit. If you feel inclined to follow magazine advice in Alter’s footsteps, pick up a copy of Up for Renewal- you’ll thank us!
