Bloomingdale’s is offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Vera Wang!
By Roshan Farazad
This holiday season, also known as engagement season, Bloomingdale’s says that they will be creating a “once in a lifetime” experience for a bride-to-be that will also benefit children in need.
From November 30th through December 10th, Bloomingdale’s tells us that they are hosting an auction that will truly make any bride’s dream come true. The winning bidder and a guest will jet set, first class, to New York City, courtesy of Delta Airlines, where they will then meet the world-renowned designer, Vera Wang, for a special one-on-one dress consultation! After the 30-minute consultation with Wang, the lucky winner will have the opportunity to choose a wedding gown from a selection of Wang’s signature designs.
The winner and her guest will stay at The Pierre hotel during their three-night stay in New York. The bride-to-be will then meet the famous sex therapist, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, for lunch at Le Train Bleu. Tucked away in Bloomingdale’s, Le Train Bleu offers a 1920s French boxcar feel, while putting a twist on the cuisine served at the original restaurant in Paris.
Also included in this promotion, the lucky bride will receive a portrait by Brian Marcus of Fred Marcus Photography Studio; which is said to be the best in wedding photography, wedding, portrait, and event in New York City for the past 70 years.
What comes after the wedding? A honeymoon! The package is also providing two first class, round-trip tickets to Hawaii for a seven-night stay at Kahala Hotel and Resort. The hotel is hidden on a private beach and is known for its luxurious facilities and excellent service.
The best part about the auction is that 100% of the proceeds will go towards the launch of the Child Mind Institute, whose mission is to transform mental health care for the world’s children to enable them to reach their full potential. There are more than 15 million children suffering from psychiatric disorders and the organization is committed to finding more effective treatments for childhood psychiatric and learning disorders as well as provides children and their families with information about treatments.
Bloomingdale’s is also offering other auctions that include, “Quintessential Photo Moment: Photo Session with Annie Leibovitz,” “To Margarita With Love: VIP Jimmy Buffett Concert Package,” “New York Movie Close-Up: Tribeca Film Festival VIP,” and “For Globe-Trotting Fashionistas Only: VIP Tickets to the Burberry Fashion Show at London Fashion Week.” Minimum bids for these auctions are $25,000.
