by Editorial

With some of our top tweeters headed to Austin this week for SXSW, we saw fewer tweets from the newly named “#1 Most Socially Networked City.” Here are our picks for top tweets this week.

Twitter has been fairly quiet the last day or two as some of our most-trusted techies travel to South by Southwest (SXSW), an annual week-long music, film, and interactive conference and fesitval in Austin, TX.

@DCeventjunkie: Too true! RT @PerfectDisk@shashib @dceventjunkie DC is a little less social today. Austin beware….

@corbett3000: My #SXSW trip starts at the Washington monument at sunrise @ Washington Monument http://instagr.am/p/CJ22A/

@sjohnson123: Hope twitter is working better in Libya than it is at #SxSW.

@katherinekenned: I really should be a #SXSW with everyone…

For those who were still in town, the weather kept them inside…

@dcconcierge: Going to have to cancel all of the rest of my meetings today on account of bad hair day. #DCweather

@LollyAmons: Its raining its pouring! The old man is snooooring!

…and maybe turning to the television…

@THERealLyndaDC: Watching E news reminds me of why I pay for drivers ~ much less than lawyer and I’m free to be me.#dontdrinkanddrive #MADD

@erickmsanchez: Saying “I prefer the Glee version of this” is especially fun when listening to the Ying Yang Twins or Nine Inch Nails.

or just tweeting about current events…

@adamconner: I saw @nancypelosi try out @angrybirds on an iPad today. Play of the week.

@cheeky_geeky: The King’s Speech and The Social Network are great, but I want to see parodies where the wardrobes are reversed.

Finally, after writing “This Week’s ‘Status’ Report” for over a month now, I have to say that I certainly wasn’t surprised to see the news that D.C. was ranked the most socially networked town in the country by Men’s Health Magazine. #Congratulations – and keep on tweeting!
