Celebrity hair and makeup artist Victoria Stiles has been working in the beauty industry for more than a decade. Inspired at a young age to pursue a career in makeup, Stiles’ has worked for M.A.C. cosmetics and Estee Lauder Company to doing set makeup for clients like Vice President Joe Biden and Professional Football Player Emmitt Smith. Her experience has gained her a top spot in the multi-billion dollar beauty industry, putting her creativity and flawless faces beauty tips in the spotlight. Washington Life: Why made you get into the beauty industry? Who and what first defined your career in the beauty industry?
Victoria Stiles: Since a teen, I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I have always had a passion for makeup and beauty. I absolutely love this industry. I would say my first big break was working in Paris with jazz musician Melody Gardot.
WL: Who are some of your beauty icons?
VS: I’m mostly inspired by old Hollywood, Marylin Monroe and Veronica Lake. I love classic beauties.
WL: What does a day in the life of Victoria Stiles look like with a client?
VS: Busy! A typical day would include working on set for a photo shoot, commercial, or television show and wrapping up the day with cleaning and organizing my kit and getting back to clients.
WL: What are some beauty products women should always invest in?
VS: Skin care and a fabulous foundation!
WL: What are some products women can cheat in and buy at the drugstore?
