Met Ball, Anna Wintour Attends Pratt Fashion Show, and Lanvin for Kids.
By Nichole Devolites
With the Royal Wedding behind us, the next most coveted invite of the spring season (Monday, May 2nd) was the Met Ball – as were the frocks.
…this included the one (by Alexander McQueen) that Daphne Guinness changed into, in quite the artistic display, in the Barney’s storefront window.
…and speaking of McQueen and the Met, the late McQueen’s new exhibit at the Met is the most successful in history.
Also this past week – graduation!
Two of the top design schools in the country graduated thirteen new up-and-comers:
Pratt put on their fashion show last week while Anna Wintour, Hamish Bowles, and Diane Von Furstenberg looked on.
FIT graduated new, talented designers with their final fashion show last week, as well. See the collections of the top ten students here.
… and speaking of designers, even the most seasoned of designers have an idol. See whom Vera Wang credits as hers.
Children are the next luxury market.
With the likes of Gucci, Fendi and Stella McCartney already designing children’s lines, Lanvin decided to join the club. His collection will launch in November.
