Renaissance Hotels celebrates opening of its newest property, the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Crystal City.

With its emphasis on movement – you can see planes, train and automobiles from the hotel’s windows, which overlook Washington National Airport – the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel was built to attract tech-savvy travelers and globe trotting guests, who want to be in site and quick reach of Washington D.C.’s closest airport. It opened its doors with a splashy ceremony recently featuring and interactive passport photo booth on the top floor Sky Lounge overlooking the city, entertainment by electric violin vixen Caitlin Moe (who played at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding) and DJ Mia Moretti. The performance was a part of the hotel’s RLife LIVE program that aims to provide guests and locals with a fresh musical acts at its hotels. The grand opening also featured renowned chefs Eric and Bruce Bromberg from New York’s Blue Ribbon Restaurant Group who created the menu for the “Blue Ribbon Classics” lounge at the hotel. The hotel is LEED® Silver certified and has 300 rooms available to all of its guests.

Designed to be LEED® Silver certified, the Renaissance Arlington Capital View, is owned by The JBG Companies of Chevy Chase, Md., and showcases modern architecture inspired by motion and light. From the glass encased meeting spaces with open-air terraces, to the modern sculptures and “green roof”, the hotel promises travelers “style and sophistication.” The hotel has 300 rooms, 17,354 sq ft of event space, including a 10,000 sq. ft. unobstructed ballroom, dark wood touches, and our favorite, the modern kinetic wood sculpture titled “Dance of the Forest” by Charlie Whinney, which greets visitors at the airy glass entrance lobby.
