Stilettos, Cupcakes, Cocktails, and Carrie Bradshaw – Summer in the City invades Washington D.C.
The clinking of stilettos against the marble floors of the lobby of The Residences on the Avenue belonged to the 100 or so fashion-clad women (and some men) arriving for the June 28th soiree launching the swanky Foggy Bottom hi-rise that boasts Washington’s most luxurious apartments and celebrating Sex and the City author, Candace Bushnell and her latest book, Summer and the City, which chronicles the life of a 17-year-old Carrie Bradshaw. Hosted by NBC’s Eun Yang, Veronica Valencia-Sarukhan, and Georgetown Cupcake’s Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne, guests enjoyed a tour of the residences, including a recreated “Carrie Closet” outfitted in Manolo Blahnik, Oscar de la Renta, Christian Louboutin and more high fashions by Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie, as well as a lipstick bar from Nectar Skin Bar, soaring rooftop views, and hors d’oeuvres and cocktails by Design Cuisine, while Bushnell signed books and posed for photos. Notable guests include, Bozzuto’s Colleen Kittell and Julie Smith, Pamela Brown, Angie Goff, Lee Brenner, and Rick Rickertsen.
