Sou’Wester begins offering a Tony-worthy pre-theater dinner menu.

Whether you’re going to see “Oklahoma,” “Our Town” or “The Merchant of Venice,” you don’t want your stomach grumbling throughout the show. That’s almost as big a faux pas as having your Blackberry ring during a key monologue. Sou’Wester wants to ensure that your tummy is comfortably full when the usher seats you, so it is offering an exclusive pre-theater dinner menu that’s worthy of a standing ovation.
Diners choose between a quartet of appetizers, including a Harris Orchard peach and ham salad dotted with burrata cheese and drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar. There are four choices for the entrée as well, including pan seared brook trout filet dressed with smoked pepper vinaigrette and accompanied by a cucumber and heirloom tomato salad. To finish off the meal, patrons have four more options: lemon-vanilla cheesecake with strawberry sorbet, Harris Orchard blueberry shortcake, blackberry cornbread buckle with sweet corn ice cream and a Valrhona chocolate peanut butter bar served with an iced whole milk shake.
The pre-theater menu is $35 per guest (excluding tax and tip) and is available 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Make a reservation online or by calling 202-787-6140.
