GM Motors honors service men and women in contest for honorary hometown celebration.
By Tyler Sullivan
Know an active duty or retired military man or woman? Want to locally honor them for their commitment to service? General Motors’ GMNortheast blog, “Driving the Northeast,” has launched a program to recognize and celebrate those who serve our country. The program, aptly named “Chevrolet Military Salute DC,” gives family and friends the chance to nominate active duty and retired military men and women for a chance to win a celebration in their hometown.
Post-nomination, five finalists will be featured on the blog’s website. There, you will be able to read candidates stories and vote on your favorite contender. On Veteran’s Day the Chevy team will surprise the winner in their town with a full-blown celebration complete with a one-week loan of a Chevrolet vehicle.
GM will be accepting nominations from September 24 through October 15. Voting will occur from October 18 through October 24, and the winner will be chosen on October 25.
In order to submit a nomination, please follow these few simple steps:
1) Click here to download the nomination form
2) Complete the nomination form and include a photo of the nominee
3) Send the nomination form and photo to Lauren Fitapelli at GMNortheast@gm.com
