For one night at Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase, shoppers could Give Pink and Get More to help further breast cancer research. Bloomingdale’s continues to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, most recently with the READY, SET, PINK! event held at the Chevy Chase store and other Bloomingdale’s stores nationwide on October 20th.

At the Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase, the night consisted of refreshments, special guests, fun, music, and exclusive merchandise – all in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, or BCRF. By giving a small donation, Bloomingdale’s cardholders received up rebate cards for future shopping. Guests left the store at the end of the night with Little Pink Bags, rather than Bloomingdale’s classic Little Brown Bags.

The event was based around much more than the special merchandise, sales and pink cocktails, though. The proceeds from the special fundraising event will go toward the BCRF and its support of groundbreaking breast cancer researchers across the country as well as D.C.-based hospitals and breast cancer centers.

D.C. is home to some of the nation’s most prominent breast cancer physicians and researchers. Colette Magnant, MD- Director of the Sibley Breast Cancer Program and Frederick P. Smith, MD- Medical Oncologist, were two experts available throughout the night to interact with shoppers and discuss information on their current work, research, and hopes for a cure.
