Becky’s Fund’s annual fashion show features great style for an even better cause – combating domestic and dating violence

You might not immediately associate high-end fashion with fighting domestic violence, but for Becky’s Fund, things are different. For their third annual Walk This Way fundraiser on November 2nd, the organization has recruited some ultra-manly men – among them Redskin’s Brian Orakpo and Anthony Armstrong, Capital’s player Karl Alzner, and DC United’s Ben Olsen – to pull on some tailored looks from Erin Finn Tailoring and walk the runway.
And to show domestic violence against women cuts deep into our history, there will be a fashion-conscious theatrical performance highlighting three astonishing stories – all from different eras – of female survival from domestic violence. The costumes are designed by Maggie Norris Couture, who has designed for legendarily strong women like Audrey Hepburn and Michelle Obama, and Eric Finn Custom Clothiers. To bring a bit of local support into the mix, Art Soiree Co. will be presenting an exhibition in honor of their Art Can Make a Difference project.
