Designer Tory Burch whisked into town recently to promote her Tysons Galleria boutique but fashion was only part of the story,  as the event supported the Rebecca Project – a human rights organization whose mission is to advocate for at-risk women. Burch has a history of thinking charitably. She started the Tory Burch Foundation in 2009 with the goal of providing opportunities to female entrepreneurs through microfinance. The Foundation’s mission of supporting women resonated with the objectives of the Rebecca Project, making a collaboration between the two organizations natural.

The event drew a who’s who of powerful women in the metro area, including Dina Powell, Valerie Jarrett, Elena Allbritton, CBS White House Correspondent Norah O’Donnell and philanthropist Catherine Reynolds among others.
