From gifting suites to VIP-filled after parties, the BET Honors weekend brought a touch a celebrity and Hollywood to D.C.

This past Saturday night in D.C., Common, Aretha Franklin, Raekwon, Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, India Aire and DJ D-Nice, all came out to celebrate MLK weekend and the BET Honors at a number of swanky events including the “Hennessy VS BET Honors After Party” events at The Park on Fourteenth and at The National Portrait Gallery.
The celebrities started out their night at the BET Honors and after wards, party hopped. It was like a high school reunion for the artists who chatted with each other and danced the night away.
BET’s Rocsi (co-host of 106 & Park) and Visanthe Shiancoe (of the Minnesota Vikings) hosted the BLACK OPULENCE Celebrity Gifting Suite in conjunction with this year’s fifth annual BET Honors celebration. The gifting suite took place at K Street Lounge where celebs, media representatives, and corporate and entertainment executives received gifted items from a host of up and coming brands, while enjoying complimentary manicures, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Special guests included 2012 BET HONORS honoree Beverly Kearney, Judge Hatchett, DJ Tay James, Super Bowl champion and sports analyst Brian Mitchell, former NBA star Etan Thomas, pro skateboarder Darren Harper and NFL players Travon Bellamy (Washington Redskins) and Jordan Miller (Chicago Bears).
