Washington Life’s Balls & Galas issue includes glitzy fall fashion.
The day got off to a slow start with traffic at a stand-still around the The Madison Hotel, causing almost the entire crew to arrive later than scheduled. As soon as everyone got to the suite, they launched into a frenzy of preparation. The model, Abbey Sowick, was primped, coiffed and prettied up, dressed in an impossibly glamorous Gucci iridescent feather pencil skirt and delicate see-through mesh body suit. She and her fashion shoot entourage then walked out en masse to the hotel’s bustling lobby for the first shot of what was to be a very long day. Needless to say, she stopped traffic herself.
In the end, Washington Life’s September fall fashion editorial went off without a hitch, thanks to a dedicated and professional crew that included: photographer Len DePas assisted by Cindy Herkommer and Bart Franz, with wardrobe styling by Lockstitch Style’s Melissa Brown and assistant Katherine Jarvis, makeup by Faces by Liz’s Liz Wegrzyn, hair by David Cohen of David’s Beautiful People assisted by Alejandro Jimenez, and manicurist Titilayo Bankole, helped along by the Madison’s warm staff, led by Meredith Goldberg.
