The inauguration-themed pins we can’t stop talking about on WL’s Pinterest page.
By Laura Wainman
With inauguration just around the corner, we have parties, parties, parties on the brain. From nails to hair and what goes on our feet, everything must be perfect for an event that only comes around once every four years. If our Pinterest boards are any indication, sparkles are definitely in for this year’s inauguration festivities.
Board: “Fashionable Life”
What: Michelle Obama’s 2009 Inauguration Ensemble
Why we love it: Though the night may have been about her husband’s swearing in as the 44th president of the United States, Michelle Obama was definitely the belle of the ball four years ago. She won the hearts of America’s fashion-minded when she donned the stunning, one shoulder Jason Wu gown, and launched the young designer’s career. We can’t wait to see the First Lady’s sartorial choices this year, and to see if she will once again go with an emerging designer, or if her second term wardrobe will begin with an established fashion house.
Board: “Fab Shoes”
What: Joseph Altuzarra Heels
Why we love it: Give us a shoe with glitter and fur and we are sold! You can never go wrong with a silver and winter-white color palette for the colder months, and the fuzzy ankle straps on these beauties may even provide a little extra warmth.
Board: “Look Your Best”
What: Peacock Ombre Nails
Why we love it: We were obsessed with the ombre nail trend of 2012 and have no plans of abandoning that love in 2013. Plus, who doesn’t feel instantly more glam with sparkly tips?
